NATIONAL HANDLOOM DAY

To raise awareness about the handloom sector in children.
To make children understand the importance of handloom.
To enhance children's use of handlooms.
To educate the children how different types of clothes are made for different occasions.
To make children know about different methods in making clothes like spinning, weaving etc..
To expose the knowledge of working on a loom.
On 7th August 2021, our Vidyalaya observed National Handloom day. On this occasion, Students of our Vidyalaya from primary section (1 - 5) actively participated in educating everyone by telling the history and importance of handloom day. They participated in various activities such as poster making, drawing, visited weaver’s houses, tailor shops, cloth shops, collected different pictures relating to handlooms and made videos explaining and showing different types of clothes.
Students educated their parents and elders about the use of handloom. They understood the effort behind making cloth, comfort of wearing handloom clothes. Children enjoyed a lot while doing videos and visiting weaving places. They understood the effort of weavers in designing new patterns and models. Through this activity children also came to know about the history of the handloom industry, children showed respect to the weavers and handloom workers and for every occasion there is a special type of cloth made in India by own hands.
